Cy’s Asian Bistro [Chicken Lettuce Wraps]
After having such a pleasant experience in Menasha last week at no other than the Menasha Grill, we decided to head back down that direction after a meeting at the Fox Cities Chamber this morning. We kind of took the back way to downtown Neenah and once we parked, looked at a few different places, but ended up at Cy’s Asian Bistro. The sushi sign in the window sealed the deal for me, since I am going though, what one would call, “Jets Withdrawals.”
We walked in and were the first people in for lunch that day. The waitress asked us where we would like to sit and we told her we would like the best seat in the house. She took us towards the front of the restaurant near the large windows that faced Main Street. The menus she handed us were very different than most menus. They were HUGE, but not in the means of food variety, but size. They must have weighed close to two pounds. It was somewhat of a pre-lunch workout lifting them up. The menu included everything from edamame to sushi rolls to a large selection of curry dishes.
Couldn’t Cheat on Jets
For some unknown reason, I feel like when I eat sushi at places other than Jet’s I am ‘cheating on’ Jets. It is weird, I know, but that lead me to ordering chicken lettuce wraps, rather than sushi rolls. Shortly after we ordered, the waitress brought around complementary vegetarian spring rolls, which were fresh and warm. Luckily, mine didn’t come with a piece of plastic in it, like the guy sitting next to us. Our food came our shortly after the ‘plastic in the spring roll’ episode next door and I was surprised at the amount of lettuce that assisted the chicken and vegetable mix, which consisted of an almost unpleasant amount of water chestnuts. The lettuce was fresh and the side of string carrots were sweet and crisp. Overall it was a satisfying meal and the service was prompt.
