Grapevine Cafe [Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon]

After a long day here and there and all around the Fox Valley, we ended up in Green Bay, hungry (what’s new), after a great networking event. Luckily, someone at the event recommended a place not too far from where we were, but since we don’t know Green Bay all that well we ended up going back and forth across the river a few times. We finally found our way to Grapevine Cafe, located at 2058 Allouez Avenue in Green Bay.

The Experience

The Grapevine was not too terribly busy when we walked in around 7:00.  The place was filled with unique little nooks and crannies; there were many little rooms and quiet areas for guests to sit. The dinning tables were traditional and the decor was on the upscale side and elegant. As the host sat us, we walked by a display cooler filled with just about everything you would find in your grandma’s dessert cookbook. We were seated in a small room with a perfectly round wooden table.

The Important Part (The Food)

The menu was exhausting, but exciting to navigate through. Everything sounded absolutely amazing. One thing that caught my eye was the Chicken & Artichoke Wrap, consisting of diced chicken, artichoke hearts, black olives, roasted red peppers, field greens, and vidalia onion sauce in a sun-dried tomato wrap with onion herb cream cheese. But the Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon also caught my attention and that is what I decided on.

After we ordered I wandered around and found that not only was this a cafe, but there was also a large gift shop filled with all kinds of interesting trinkets. Wine, clothing, jewelry, candles, rugs, and other interesting items lined the shelves. I soon found my way back to the table just about the same time our waitress brought our food.

The presentation of the salad, as you can see, was remarkable and it tasted just as good as it looked. The salmon was prepared very well, a bit crispy on the outside and warm and juicy in the middle. It came with a soft piece of bread and butter as well as fresh grapes, which was a pleasant surprise. It was delicious and the overall environment of the cafe was unforgettable. If you are in the Green Bay area, it is definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the recommendation Jason!
