Beefeaters British Grille [Honey Mustard Chicken Salad]
Tuesday’s lunch was at Beefeaters British Grille on the north side of Appleton just off of Ballard Road. I was somewhat disappointed to be at the best happy hour spot in Appleton 3 hours before happy hour started. By best happy hour in Appleton, I mean they have a complimentary nacho bar, wings (with a variety of sauces), and popcorn with amazing drink specials Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 7:00. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap, such as Newcastle, Bass, Stone Cellar 6 Grain, and Smithwicks. Either way, I have never been disappointed by the British themed grill and this time was no different.
Cozy Meeting Room
We had a lunch and learn type of event scheduled and when we mentioned that to the host, he graciously guided us to the back of the restaurant to a beautiful meeting room. There was a large fireplace in the middle of the room and floor to ceiling windows on two sides of the nicely decorated room. Having been here before, I never knew this room was here and available for meetings or parties. I will definitely keep it in mind if I ever need a meeting room or know someone who does.
I Was Peckish
The menu has a unique flare to it and by that I mean you cannot order Shepard’s Pie, Fish N’ Chips or Chicken Pot Pie at ordinary restaurants in the Fox Valley. All of their signature dishes come with bread and honey butter as well as a side salad and choice of dressing. As people filtered in, I decided on something my blood pressure would not yell at me for, a low sodium salad. Not just a plain ol’ salad, a Honey Mustard Chicken Salad.
The waitress brought out bread right after the table ordered and it was deliciously gone in about 3 minutes. The bread was good, but the honey butter I piled on top of it was sweet, creamy, and overly edible. The food arrived at the table not long after we ordered. My salad consisted of grilled chicken strips served on a bed of lettuce (why is lettuce always served on a ‘bed’ of lettuce) with tomatoes, onions cucumbers, and cheddar cheese. The 3 gallons of dressings on the side included ranch, honey mustard, and barbecue sauce, which actually tasted really good mixed together. The service was good and the salad was worth $8.99.
Anyways, who is up for happy hour?
