Regatta 220 [Greek Turkey Burger]
Once again we found ourselves in Green Bay on a Tuesday night. This time we were guests at the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce’s Current-Young Professionals social event at WXYZ Bar in the Aloft Hotel. I stepped outside to get some fresh air and happened to notice Regatta 220. I was not familiar with Regatta so I checked it out on my phone and it turned out to be a restaurant with an interesting menu. Perhaps most interesting was the Ahi Tuna Pizza. Having the attention span of a squirrel with ADD, I kind of forgot about the networking event and wandered my way down to Regatta 220.
A Greek Turkey Burger and a Nice View
First off, Regatta 220 has a nice view and a great feel to the interior. The wooden boat and seaplane hanging from the ceiling are nice touches, but the establishment fronts the Fox River and a small marina that sits almost under the Highway 172 Fox River bridge. It must be very nice in the summer, especially for boaters. They can tie up right next to the restaurant and sit on the spacious patio and watch the river flow northward where it eventually empties into the bay.
The Greek Turkey Burger ($8.99) consisted of a spicy turkey patty topped with feta cheese, red pepper, spinach, and balsamic vinegar. For the most part, a turkey burger is kind of a turkey burger. As of yet, I have not had a restaurant turkey burger that tasted too much different (i.e. better) than the ones I occasionally make at home, but the addition of feta cheese and the balsamic really helped to set this one apart. However, the more interesting part of the meal was the “seasonal healthy offering”, which was a compilation of brown rice and other ingredients (I’m not even sure what all was in it) served cold.
There service was slow, but friendly. It took a fair bit of time to get our meals and unfortunately the waitress took quite a while to swing back and refill drinks. Otherwise, there were no complaints to be had. We would certainly consider going back. Maybe not for the turkey burger, but definitely for the Ahi Tuna Pizza.
