Harborside Restaurant [Tequila Lime Grilled Chicken Salad]
Food in the Fox was out of town the Fox Valley this weekend in Manitowoc. It was decided on that Harborside Restaurant was going to be the lunch spot for the day. The place was a bit off the beaten path, but if you turned your head at just the right time, you can see the sign to the supper club establishment just a stone throw away from the harbor.
Al Capone Doesn’t Follow The Rules
Walking in, I noticed the ceiling were rather low and the place was definitely more of a supper club type of place. There was a large bar right inside the main entrance and a somewhat small dining room off to the right of it. There was also memorabilia from the first have of the 1900′s covering the walls, include a sign that said no cigar smoking with a picture of Al Capone smoking a cigar directly below it. There were also large red candle holder centerpieces on the tables, which were heavy as a brick. They could easily be used as a weapon or anchor.
Tequila Lime Chicken
The menu was filled with a variety of fish and other delicious looking entrees and sandwiches. The prices were a little steep, but I guess that’s what we get for going to a supper club. I decided on the Tequila Lime Grilled Chicken Salad after looking through the menu a few times. This included chicken breast skewers marinated in a blend of fresh lime juice, splash of tequila and fresh cilantro, char-grilled and served on a bed of mixed greens, red onion, tomato, cucumber and fried crisp tortilla strips, served with your choice of dressing.
Overall, the salad, was well a salad, but the chicken, WOW! It had a nice zest of lime and tequila and was very tender. It also came on a skewer, which was a nice touch. The salad came it at right around $11. Not terrible, but I have had better salad for half the cost. Will I be back? Possibly.
