WeatherVane [SW Chicken Salad]
Let me just say, I love this place. The service is fast and friendly. The food is always good and the place always smells fantastic, not even like food, but they have some kind of magic cinnamon apple candle or Airwick plugin that makes the place smell like a cool, fall day or the inside of a cinnamon stick. Now if that little rant isn’t enough to get you in the door, I don’t know what will.
Love Me Some WeatherVane
The small, cute diner is located downtown Menasha, right next to a beautiful fountain. It is also a neighbor of the Menasha Grill, which has a unique Marti Gras type feel and should be on your list of places to eat, if you have not yet. Food in the Fox visited WeatherVane at right around 11:30 and it was pretty busy. Many of the other diners decided on breakfast and I decided to go a different route because I have had my fair share of eggs recently.
Southwest Chicken Salad
I went with the Southwest Chicken Salad, which came it at $8.49 and included Cajun seasoned chicken, corn, black beans, peppers and fresh cilantro. It was served (wait for it…) on a bed of fresh greens with a house Southwest dressing on the side that tasted like thick chipolte sauce. The peppers that were on it were not overly spicy and the black beans added some nice texture to the salad. If you have not tried this place out, you should. You will be pleasantly surprised by the food, service and overall atmosphere.
