Bagelicious [Turkey Bagel Sandwich]
Bagelicious downtown has been open for a few months now and I finally made it a point to go check it out for lunch (I have been there for breakfast, and the bagel was, well a bagel). It was slam packed at around noon, which is typical for a place downtown, but Bagelicious is somewhat small and seating was a bit of an issue. Luckily, the people we were meeting there had a spot saved.
This place has a cool, urban-ish vibe going for it. The menu is on a giant chalk board, with everything from salads and wraps to breakfast sandwiches. They have a pretty impressive selection of bagels, some of which they were out of for lunch on this particular day. I decided to order a turkey sandwich on a whole wheat bagel. It came with a choice of vegetables, such as onion, spinach, lettuce, tomato, sprouts and avocado. It also came with a choice of cheese. I opted for no cheese, red onion, spinach, and honey mustard sauce. For the SPATS sauce fans out there, they also have SPATS sauce as an option for a sandwich topper.
After ordering, we sat down and waited for our food to be up. Unfortunately, there was some kind of malfunction and we had to go back up to the counter and tell the cook exactly what we ordered. It was not a deal breaker for me, as I know restaurants have their hickups, just like any other business, but it was a bit of an inconvenience. The food didn’t take long to prepare and was ready in about 5-10 minutes. As you can see below, the bagel sandwich was large and piled with toppings. The bagel was fresh, there were just the right amount of toppings and there was just a dab of honey mustard sauce. It was a pleasant bit to eat for $5.
Recommendations? If you are going to do lunch here, go early or late, so the place isn’t slammed busy. Go check it out!
