Study Hall Grille & Pub [Jerk Chicken Wrap]
THRIVE Lunch on Monday was on the south side of Appleton, at a place many people said they always pass by, but never seem to go to. It was off of Calumet Street at Study Hall Grille & Pub, a pub know for its Caribbean flair food. I have been there before and honestly, I was blown away by the taste of the food. It was so unlike anything I had in a while and I was excited to go back and try something else, jerk-i-fied (last time, I had a Caribbean Jerk Chicken pizza that had mangos and it was bursting with great flavor).
Caribbean Bar & Grille
The place looks like a typical bar from the outside and inside for that matter. There is a higher than normal bar with tin wrapped around it, with plenty of beers on tap, as well as a full selection of liquor. There are a few high top tables and a wall lined with booths, which us THRIVERS sat at on Monday for lunch. The owner, Kieth was full prepared for our group when we arrived just a hair after 11. There were water glasses on the table as well as pitchers scattered around. Everyone was took their time looking through the small but unique menu, which included pizza, wings, salads and appetizers, such as hummus (which I also had last time and thoroughly enjoyed).
Jerk Chicken Wrap
Having been to Jamaica a few years ago, I was fortunate to get to try their version of jerk food. It was so flavorful and different from anything else, so when I hear other people rant and rave about the food, I knew I had to try it. This time I went with the Jerk Chicken wrap which consisted of seasoned grilled chicken, candied pecans, remoulade dressing, lettuce, green peppers, onions, carrots served in a tortilla wrap. It, also came with a side of potato chips. The wrap was blessed with just the right amount of jerk sauce and was pleasantly delicious.
Besides the food being something to write home about, I would also like to give a pat on the back to the owner Keith, who was the only chef cooking for our group of about 14 that day. The food didn’t take forever and everyone enjoyed their meals. I will be back to enjoy more jerk style food!
